After working with your imagery and exploiting areas of interest, you can export your area of interest and view for use in briefings, reports, and presentations. The export tools allow you to export your current view as a report.
Create a Report tool
Generate a report to disseminate key information about a specific area of your imagery through a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. The Create Report tool allows you to define an area of interest and add any comments from your analysis. You can create a report from the map focus panel or image focus view.
Note:
If you choose to export the image focus view, the full metadata of the image will be included in the notes section of the slide.
To create a report, complete the following steps:
- Click the Tools menu in the imagery exploitation canvas.
- In the Export Tools list, click Create Report.
- Click Sketch an Area of Interest to draw your area.
Additionally, you can click the button again to cancel your drawing.
- Fill in the following information:
- Report Title
- Analyst Comments
- Report Filename (required)
You also have Additional Report Options to export your report in dark mode and include a title slide. Including a title slide is turned on by default.
- Click Create Report.
The presentation file is available in your browser's default download location.
Upload a report to your portal account
You have the option of uploading your report to your portal account. Your report will upload to different folders depending on the workflow. If you are working in the canvas view through an ad-hoc workflow, your report gets saved in your My Content folder. If you create a report within an existing imagery project, your report gets saved to your imagery project folder.
To upload a report to your portal account, complete the following steps:
- Click the Tools menu in the imagery exploitation canvas.
- In the Export Tools list, click Create Report.
- Click Sketch an Area of Interest to draw your area.
Additionally, you can click the button again to cancel your drawing.
- Fill in the following information:
- Report Title
- Analyst Comments
- Report Filename (required)
You also have Additional Report Options to export your report in dark mode and include a title slide. Including a title slide is turned on by default.
- Click Create Report.
The presentation file is available in your browser’s default download location, and the Upload Report option appears.
- Click Upload Report to Your Portal Account or drag your file to the area. Alternatively, you can click Skip to skip the upload and continue.
A notification appears in the App Notices center stating the imagery report was uploaded and saved to your online account as a new item.
Your report will appear in My Content or your imagery project folder in your portal.
Export Image tool
Export your image by choosing to view an image snapshot, save an image snapshot, or download the full resolution image and its supported files using the Export Image tool. The view image snapshot option opens your defined area of interest as a .jpeg in a new browser tab. The save image snapshot option downloads the .jpeg and is recommended for presentations and briefings. The download source imagery option downloads the full image and its supported files and is recommended for use in mapping applications. You can export an image from the map focus panel or image focus view.
You can export your image by choosing one of the following:
View Image Snapshot
Use the View Image Snapshot option to chip the drawn area and open the resulting simple .jpeg image in a new browser tab. To export an image, complete the following steps:
- Click the Tools menu in the imagery exploitation canvas.
- In the Export Tools list, click Export Image.
- Click Draw Area of Interest to draw your area. Once enabled, you can click Reset to cancel your drawing.
- Select View Image Snapshot.
A new browser tab opens with your .jpeg.
Save Image Snapshot
Use the Save Image Snapshot option to chip and download a simple .jpeg of the drawn area. This is useful for briefings and presentations.To export an image, complete the following steps:
- Click the Tools menu in the imagery exploitation canvas.
- In the Export Tools list, click Export Image.
- Click Draw Area of Interest to draw your area. Once enabled, you can click Reset to cancel your drawing.
- Select Save Image Snapshot.
- Provide a name for the saved file.
- Click Export Imagery. Click Previous to return to the previous step.
If you choose to download an image snapshot or an image chip, the file is available in your browser’s default download location
Download Source Imagery
Use the Download Source Imagery option to select the imagery files that intersect with the drawn area of interest. Options to download imagery data sets and complimentary files will be provided
Use the View Image Snapshot option to chip the drawn area and open the resulting simple .jpeg image in a new browser tab. To export an image, complete the following steps:
- Click the Tools menu in the imagery exploitation canvas.
- In the Export Tools list, click Export Image.
- Click Draw Area of Interest to draw your area. Once enabled, you can click Reset to cancel your drawing.
- Select Download Source Imagery .
Note:
The Download Source Imagery option is only available if the image service has download capabilities enabled. - Click Export Imagery. Click Previous to return to the previous step.
- Select an intersecting imagery item to get a list of downloadable files.
- Click View File List.
- Select each file part of the source imagery data set to download. Click Select All to select all files in the source imagery data set.
- Click Download.
A dialog appears to confirm your actions.
- Click Download. Click Cancel to go back to the file selection.
